At present suicide is one of the leading causes of death among young people worldwide. Suicide among young people is a major health problem and we were pleased to be able to attend the 'Addressing young people's health inequalities' conference, in London on the 17th -18th October 2013.
We were delighted to present a poster at the conference in order to raise awareness among professionals and organisations working to improve young people's health and well-being. Recently STORM has developed an education model encorporating a student element for use in schools. This approach engages students in suicide awareness and how to stay safe with film, theatre and interaction. Sections of the education model have been piloted in parts of Australia and STORM is now looking for schools in the UK to test and engage in the full package.
