This year’s EXPO was hosted by NHS England with the aim to give everyone the reasons to make positive changes in healthcare.

During Expo 2014, we met Monkey Wellbeing. Monkey Wellbeing produces storybooks with the aim of making the experience of hospital less daunting for young children. The storybooks include honest writing and realistic photos showing the actual hospital environment. We discussed the possibility of self-injury in some future edition of Monkey’s storybooks - developments will be posted on our Twitter and website so keep an eye out!

We also met up with Dr Alys Cole-King and Sian Peake-Jones from Connecting With People (CwP). Connecting with People is an organisation that delivers a range of training in suicide and self-harm mitigation, mental health awareness and building emotional resilience. It was great for both of our teams to finally meet.

STORM were pleased to be able to make a NHS Change Day pledge. We pledged to make a difference through the delivery of skills-based training for frontline staff.
