The National Suicide Prevention Alliance (NSPA) are hosting a webinar that will showcase meaningful involvement of young people with lived experience of suicide.

As the NSPA continue to focus on reducing stigma in suicide prevention, their next webinar will cover meaningful involvement of young people with lived experience of suicide.
Webinar details:
- Topic: Involving young people with lived experience in suicide prevention
- Date & time Tuesday 19th November 2024 - 10:00am - 11:30am GMT

The NSPA will be joined by members of the Youth Advisory Group, Youth Involvement Officer, and Dr Maria Michail from the University of Birmingham’s Institute of Mental Health. They will explore how the Institute involve young Experts by Experience in the design, implementation, and translation of suicide prevention research.

The webinar will showcase #MyGPguide, an evidence-based resource designed by and for young people with lived experience of self-harm or suicidality. This guide aims to help young people prepare for GP consultations about their mental health.
- The panel will highlight and reflect on various issues that have been raised when considering the feasibility, value, ethics and safeguarding of coproduction in suicide prevention research.
- Additionally, they will be discussing the vital role of primary care in suicide prevention; highlighting how GPs can support young people at-risk of suicide.
- The webinar will include a 30 min Q&A session with the audience.
This is a free event, however the work of the NSPA would not be possible without the donations they receive. If you are able to, you can make a voluntary donation via their donations page.
