We understand that suicide and self-harm prevention training is a sensitive and emotional topic and that some aspects of the training can be challenging. Our consultants will make sure that you feel comfortable, safe, and supported throughout the training.
Some people find the filmed skills practice challenging. Skills practice is an opportunity for the participants to have a go at having the conversation in a safe environment. The thought of going on film may be daunting, but you are not alone – your consultant and the Storm Skills Training team are here to support you throughout your time training with us. We know that it could be anxiety provoking to go on film, but the large majority of people who do say it was uncomfortable, but they are glad they did because they got so much out of it. Participants walk away feeling they know what to do in those situations. That is incredibly important to us.
